| The Crew | |
| None of us really meant to make a career of this. We were just checking it out. |
Some began
as passengers; some were lured in by friends; others started with other
river companies but succumbed to the siren song of the dory. Some set
about learning everything there is to know about Grand Canyon. Then we were hooked. We'd taken the poisoned pill. The river had us and we couldn't leave. |
What do we do? We're the ones who row the boats and cook the meals, of course. |
We guide the hikes, point out cool stuff and try to explain things. But it's more than that. Guiding is, more than anything else, a people business, and to be good at it you've got to love people. |
| We're not driving a bus; we're sharing a place we truly love. To us that's not a job, it's a way of life. The final message of who we are is now well we pass on to you the best of what's here. And there's so much here. | |
